Orange Essential Oil and Turmeric for Your Skin + a Skin Scrub

Don't you absolutely love the scent of a fresh orange? The scent is immediately uplifting and joyful!

If you are using or smelling a pure essential oil, then that is what it should smell like. It should never smell 'man made' or chemically. It shouldn't give you an instant headache.

Not all essential oils are the same and worth some research before you purchase. But that isn't our discussion today!

Let's talk about the benefits of orange essential oil and turmeric for your skin, as well as your mind.

Orange Essential Oil is cold extraction from the peel. The oil contains primarily limonene, about 90%, along with the remaining percentages being myrcene (monoterpene), decanal (aldehyde) and alpha-pinene.

It is these different active substances that give Orange essential oil its multiple benefits for the skin: clearing, toning, soothing, decongesting, cleansing.

**always research before using if pregnant, for small children or if you have any ailments or diseases

Turmeric can have many benefits for the skin, including:

  • Acne: Turmeric's anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties can help prevent acne-causing bacteria.

  • Brightening: Turmeric's antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties can give the skin a healthy glow and slow down melanin production, which can help fade blemishes and acne marks.

  • Dark circles: Turmeric's skin lightening properties can stimulate circulation, which can help reduce puffiness and under-eye darkness.

  • Dry skin: Turmeric can make skin appear more supple, smooth, and vibrant.

  • Inflammation: Turmeric's curcumin antioxidant can help lessen inflammation, relax the skin, and target pores.

  • Stretch marks and scars: Turmeric can help minimize the appearance of stretch marks and scars.

Turmeric does offer some pretty nice skin benefits and it's very handy to be in a bar of soap that is easier to use then a messy scrub. But sometimes, you need a messy scrub!

And for that reason, I made you a messy turmeric skin scrub! Your skin will really like this!

Swap out the coconut oil if you want or need to! If you use a liquid oil, it will make the paste less paste like and more loose.
